Meet Gigia
From her debut in a Venetian café—where she demanded a latte with a single regal meow—to exploring more than 100 cities across Italy, Gigia has never believed that travel should be limited by species.
Born a farm kitten on 1 May 2021, Gigia seemed destined for butterfly-chasing and sun-drenched naps. Instead, she became an unlikely explorer: riding ferries through Venetian canals, strolling historic piazzas, inspecting luxury hotels, and sampling everything from porchetta to Michelin-star cuisine (always with strong opinions).
Together, we have travelled more than 20,000 miles across Italy, discovering not only extraordinary places, but something deeper: true hospitality. Gigia judges a place differently from humans. She cares less about stars and rankings, and more about atmosphere, warmth, calm spaces, and whether she is genuinely welcomed.
But feline travel is not always glamorous. Behind every elegant photograph lies the occasional escaped harness, gecko-fuelled chaos, and the unforgettable moment of asking, “Did she really just leap toward a fresco?”
Gigia taught me that meaningful travel is not about rushing through destinations—it is about slowing down, staying curious, and experiencing places with presence. Through her eyes, Italy becomes quieter, richer, and unexpectedly magical.
This website is for anyone who has ever wondered whether travel can feel more personal, more thoughtful, and more joyful.

How Gigia Travels
Gigia doesn’t travel like most tourists—
and certainly not like most cats.
Her way of exploring is slower, sharper, and far more particular.
She chooses places not by hype,
but by atmosphere, hospitality,
and whether a place feels calm enough to truly experience.
✦ That’s the Gigia way ✦
Trailblazing On Her Terms
Gigia treats nature like her private kingdom—sniffing wildflowers, supervising squirrels, and dramatically flopping into the grass whenever the scenery deserves proper admiration.
For her, the outdoors is never about speed or distance. It is about curiosity, quiet, and sensory discovery.
Gigia's rule: always pack treats. The only thing more dangerous than a bored cat is a hungry one.
Urban Safari
Cities are Gigia's theatre. She has stalked pigeons across piazzas, inspected hidden alleyways, and perfected the art of looking personally offended by traffic noise.
But city travel taught her something important: location matters. Quiet neighborhoods, walkable streets, and calm corners often matter more than luxury.
Her philosophy is simple:
Gigia's Five-Star Standards
Forget human star ratings.
Gigia has her own luxury criteria for accommodation:
- 🏙️ Floor-to-ceiling windows for premium bird-watching
- 🌿 Safe outdoor access or garden views
- 😴 Quiet rooms away from noise and busy corridors
- 🐟 Bonus points for tuna on demand
For Gigia, true luxury isn't marble bathrooms.
Slow Travel & Small Moments
Gigia's greatest discoveries rarely happen at famous landmarks.
They happen in markets, hidden cafés, quiet vineyards, and forgotten villages where time slows down.
She reminds us that travel is not about rushing through checklists.
It is about noticing small details—sunlight on old stone walls, the smell of fresh bread, the warmth of a welcoming smile.
Through Gigia's eyes, Italy becomes something deeper:
but an experience.
